INFRA Announces 2022 Brix Award Winners

St. Paul, Minnesota – July 28, 2022 – The 2022 INFRA Brix Award winners were announced at the INFRA Annual Conference last night. Each year, the INFRA community comes together to recognize members and partners who have had an indelible effect on the industry and/or the communities which they serve.

This year the member and vendor awards have been newly branded as the INFRA Brix Awards. “We named our awards Brix to connect to our food-focused, locally driven community,” said Pat Sheridan, INFRA President & CEO. “Brix is both a measure of sweetness found in fruits and vegetables, and it alludes to the strong foundations of our industry and our members’ brick-and-mortar stores that nourish communities across the country. This is a way to honor our members and partners for their contributions in a variety of categories including leadership, equitable access, growth, and innovation.”

Cheryl Hughes, Owner of The Whole Wheatery and outgoing INFRA Board Chair, accepted the inaugural Cheryl Hughes Award for Leadership, named in honor of her commitment and contribution not only to the organic industry but to INFRA as a board member and champion for ten years. She said, “receiving the very first Brix award was an honor that touched my heart and soul. To be recognized by your peers for something that you love to do made it especially touching. It’s the first “brix” in my next chapter – now comes the hard part, lugging it home.”
