For 45 years, Mariposa Market has been a staple in Mendocino County, CA for healthy, fresh and natural foods. What started as a family-owned fruit and vegetable stand in the late 70s has expanded into a 1,000 sq ft store, always improving and growing to meet the needs of their community.
Mariposa Market became an INFRA Member in 2024 and has already seen impressive results through INFRA’s purchasing programs, especially INFRA Everyday. Since enrolling, they’ve experienced a 67% year-over-year sales increase, compared to the INFRA membership average of 24% over the same period.
Hear from Ian Bowers, IT Manager at Mariposa Market, about what has made the program so successful in their store, how they’re using the full CADIA product line to their advantage, and how INFRA Everyday has helped them improve food access through pricing stability and assortment.
Q: What do you think has contributed to the overall success of INFRA Everyday in your store?
A: Pricing, first and foremost. CADIA is as competitive as any other private label, and the quality is hard to beat. Their commitment to sourcing from local farmers whenever possible helps ground the product in our community and makes it an easy story to share with customers.
Q: Have you brought in additional CADIA items outside of the required core set? If so, how did you go about choosing which additional items to carry?
A: We’ve added several items to fill key gaps and offer more affordable alternatives. A great example is the CADIA Free Range Organic Eggs. They’re nearly half the price of Vital Farms, making them an easy choice for our customers. We’ve also brought in items like the Italian sodas (which make amazing mixers) and the shelf-stable salsas, all chosen based on quality, price point, and customer demand.

Q: Mariposa is located in a small community of around 5,000. How has INFRA Everyday helped you improve food access in your community?
A: INFRA Everyday has improved food access through pricing stability and assortment. With inflation being a very real concern, having price-locked items gives customers a sense of security—they know they can reliably budget for staples like pasta at $2. The consistency and affordability make organic and natural options attainable for more families in our community.
