I had the opportunity to attend the DC41 Fresh Tabletop in the middle of August. Many food shows focus on fancy booths, large volume deals, and launching new innovations. KeHe’s Fresh Tabletops offer an intimate environment to connect with brands and establish new relationships. While some long-established brands are present, these shows mainly provide an avenue for small and start-up companies looking to connect with retailers and build distribution. Though many brands at the KeHe Fresh Tabletops are limited to select regional distribution, being able to connect and network with these brands is vital for future success and partnership. Below are some brand highlights from this show. Our goal is to partner with, or increase collaboration with, these brands in the near future.

True Story Meats – True Story Meats’ beginnings started with Russ Kremer, a hog farmer who founded Heritage Foods Co-op. Heritage Foods Co-op ensures a future for small, independent farmers and has grown into a network of 75 Midwest family farms that are dedicated to humane, sustainable practices – while ensuring fair compensation for farmers and high-quality meats for consumers. True Story offers a range of products such as sliced deli meats, salami, hot dogs, and bacon. Available in DC01, DC12, DC16, DC19, DC25, DC27, DC33, DC41.

Sierra Nevada Cheese – When Ben Gregersen and John Dundon started making cheese together, their use of old-fashioned methods and simple ingredients earned them a following at farmers markets. Twenty-seven years later, they are helping to keep the tradition of dairy farming alive in a region of California that's been moving toward tree nut cultivation. Sierra Nevada supports small family dairies in the milkshed of Glenn County, California. Their partnership with local farms remains the bedrock of their business. Sierra Nevada makes various organic dairy products such as butter, cream cheese, goat cheese and aged cheddars. A variety of Sierra Nevada products are available in DC01, DC12, DC16, DC19, DC25, DC27, DC33, DC41.

Bolani Flatbreads – Nazie Sidiq learned how to make Bolani flatbreads from her grandmother, a traditional dish in her Afghani culture. These vegetarian friendly recipes feature flavors like pumpkin, curry, and spiced potatoes. Sourcing from local California farmers, Bolani continues to make their flatbreads by hand, fresh every day. These flatbreads offer a surprising punch of bold flavors! A small selection of products are available in DC12, DC16, DC19, DC25, DC27, DC33, DC41.

MyForest Foods MyBacon – Thanks to farm-grown meatless mycelium, MyBacon has the taste and texture of real-deal bacon. From the salty-sweet-savory harmony of flavor to the crisp and meaty pull of each bite, you’ll find yourself double-checking the label. Made with organic mushroom mycelium, organic coconut oil, organic sugar, natural smoke flavor, and salt. MyBacon is available in DC01, DC16, DC27, DC33, DC41.

Nat’s Raw Line – This brand creates delicious raw desserts free of butter, milk, and eggs! Prepared with dates, almonds, coconut milk, fruit and nuts; these sweet treats offer a vegan alternative to traditional bakery delicacies. A small selection of products are available in DC16, DC25, DC27.
